JCI Leuven - Twinnings
Internationalism has always been something special for JCI Leuven; we like to watch outside our town! The diversity of Belgium linked with a rather small area makes it straightforward to go international.
On international conferences JCI Leuven is generally represented with a delegation of more than 10 people, certainly in the European one. For example in Budapest, the 2009 conference, we were present with about 20 people. And more: we even organized the Belgian Delegation, where we convinced 170 people to join us!
Not only conferences are important for JCI Leuven, also the Twinnings receive a special place in our LOM. JCI Leuven is twinned with:
and regularly, new discussions with other LOM's are taking place, to see if there exist opportunities to create a mutual project, hence a better world. But Twinning also means 'enjoying one weekend per year with all twinning partners, share experiences, be friends'. During these weekends, home hospitality is offered. People meet each other in a very special JCI spirit, mixed with culture and party. Last year, 2008, JCI Den Bosch was host. 2007 JCI Leuven took up the honour, while this year, JCI La Rochelle will take care of everything.
JCI Leuven also stimulates its people to get into contact with foreign LOM's, certainly during their business and leisure trips abroad. This can lead to extraordinary experiences, you can obtain with and within the JCI spirit!
So, are you from a foreign LOM, outside Belgium, and do you want to meet people from JCI Leuven? Do not hesitate to contact Tijl Materman, the responsible person for International affairs. He will announce your wish inside JCI Leuven and let members know they can visit your LOM during their visit to your country.
